Hi, I’m Madelyn
As someone who started their photography journey shooting film, not digital, I’ve had a unique educational experience and my approach to a shoot is slow and intentional. I embrace inconvenience. It was 4 years into shooting film before I even touched a digital camera. Because my love for photography has grown out of my love for film, each one of my wedding collections has film integrated into the process. Every elopement or wedding day package comes with unlimited rolls of 35mm film.
Due to the high cost of working with film and physical media, my prices may be a little higher than other photographers with my amount of experience. If the film experience is not a priority to you, I understand I may not be the right photographer for you.
Ultimately, the experience I want for you is to work with a photographer who gets you, whether that ends up being me or somebody else.
If you’ve made it this far, let’s connect. I’ll make sure you get photos that you’ll actually want to show your grandkids.
I believe that we are all uniquely handcrafted in the image of God, and that as those who are made in the image of the Creator, we are also designed to create. It delights the Lord to reflect the beauty of the ones he has made through photography. It is my desire to create with authenticity and honesty, crafting images that are as thoughtfully designed as you are.
It is not in spite of my identity as a follower of Christ, but rather because of it, it is my mission that Colozza Creative Studios would be and always remain a safe space. This space is LGBTQ+ friendly, and I will always embrace friends of all backgrounds, gender identities, orientations, faiths, and communities. I am honored to celebrate you for you, and welcome you as you are, always.
You belong here <3
“It is the creative potential itself in human
beings that is the image of God”
-Mary Daly… and I’m not a wedding photographer.
Well, I am, but it isn’t the way I approach my work. I tend to think of myself as your creative director for tomorrow’s memories.
Okay cool, what does that even mean? is what you’re probably thinking, right?
The creative director is responsible for the overall visual communication, artistic strategy, and creative output for a company or campaign. Instead of just showing up with vibes, an extra-large coffee, and a Pinterest board, the creative director is asking what do we want these images to communicate? What needs to happen to execute this vision? Whose story do these photos tell? And most importantly, why does this particular story need to be told?
I’m a creative director, but instead of working to sell a product with a company or a brand, I work with you to help tell your story in a way that is personal, intimate, and authentic. More than just hiring a vendor for your wedding, I am a creative partner entering into a collaborative experience with you!
I’m not the photographer for everyone, and that’s okay. It’s my priority that I team up with couples who feel aligned with my process + want to invest in a lifelong preservation of this season of their life.
I work with couples who are passionate about artfully documenting their memories and don’t want their wedding day to feel like one big photo shoot.
